Tecno Telecoms, the company behind the Phantom series has launched a new device called the A3 in this range. The Phantom A3 is the successor of the Tecno Phantom A2 which was launched sometime back, and had specifications similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. The Tecno Phantom A3 runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS, and features 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6589T processor. The device runs on the same processor that powers devices like the Karbonn S7 and Xolo Q1000S. With a 6 inch touch screen with 720×1280 pixels display, the device has a true phablet look.

Quick Review

The Tecno Phantom A3 supports both 2G, and 3G. It uses mini SIM technology, and supports dual SIM with dual standby mode. The device features a plastic body, and is just 8.9mm thick. With 245 PPI display, the screen of the Phantom A3 is particularly good.

In camera, the device has 13MP rear camera with LED flash, and auto focus. The rear camera supports 1080p video recording at the rate of 30 frames per second. The camera also supports geo tagging, and face detection. One major advantage of the device is it’s great 8MP front camera, which is perfect for video calling.

Krishan, i’ve read a great deal of reviews from a number of websites; yours has been the most helpful of all. Incidentally, how is the quality of its video recording? Some reviewers say the 1 GB RAM is a bit frustrating; what is your take on this?

I have this mobile, here is my review of the mobile –

The box pack is really nice, the device is properly boxed, and it comes with all the proper accessories, including ear phones.

The screen of the device is the best thing, it is really nice, the text is sharp, but one thing that is bad is that this device doesn’t support NFC.

I watched some movies in HD and they ran well. Also, the device has proper camera, which has good quality.

So overall, it is a 8.5 out of 10 device.
