The Karbonn S1 Titanium has duel SIM compatibility. It has 4.5 inch display, which is not up to the mark. The device’s price in India is Rs. 10499, but you can get it for around Rs. 10000 in online stores. Although the Karbonn S1 doesn’t sport a big phablet look, but still on papers, the specifications of the device look good, and it seems that it is pretty much capable of playing big games. Read on to know more. Box Pack The Karbonn S1 Titanium comes in a simple and nice box pack. The box looks simple and at the same time beautiful. It comes with all the normal accessories like adapter, micro USB, headphones and the handset. The device itself comes wrapped in plastic. Design and Feel The S1 Titanium itself has a very simple and clean design. The handset is sturdy and the build quality is not bad, but rather good. With 4 soft buttons on the front side and the design of the handset is very good. The sides has volume rockers and sleep button. On the bottom of the Karbonn S1 Titanium is the 3.5mm audio jack. But the thing is that the back frame of the mobile is like a finger print magnet. Display The device has 4.5 inch IPS touchscreen. But the screen doesn’t perform as it should. The screen has unnatural colors, and the viewing angles too aren’t good. Having said that, the Karbonn S1’s screen is good in normal usage even though the display is not that good. In normal usage, the screen looks good and the UI itself is very crisp. Memory and Storage Karbonn S1 Titanium has 1GB RAM and 4GB internal memory. The RAM looks quite sufficient and the mobile was capable of multi tasking easily without any lag. Out of 1GB RAM about 363MB is free for user. It has 4GB on-board storage out of which about 1.21GB is available for the user. The mobile was capable of storing apps on external SD card directly. We tried Need For Speed Most Wanted, and it ran quite well. Processor and Performance The device has Qualcomm Snapdragon Quad Core processor, that gives it very good performance. It was very much capable of running big games, and the UI was very crisp with almost no lags. The mobile was capable of playing Need For Speed Most Wanted and other big games too. The S1 was able to run 720p videos quite well, while the 1080p videos were not so crisp but still ran well. Benchmark AnTuTu – 9975 Quadrant – 3845 Multi touch – 5 point Nenamark2 – 45fps Camera The Karbonn S1 Titanium has 5 Mega pixels primary camera and front camera. The rear camera performs well, but the images were not that crisp. The front camera too performs good but not that good. The stock camera app had options for adjusting the face detection, colour effect, white balance, anti-banding and red-eye reduction. Panorama option too was avialable. The S1 Titanium was able to capture 720p videos but it was not able to capture images in 1080p. Also, if you move the handset while taking images or the image you are capturing is moving then you get blurred images. Sound Quality The Karbonn S1 Titanium has average sound quality. While the headsets perform really well, but the speakers are only average. The sound was not that loud. The headphones provided are too of good quality. Battery Life The device has only 1600 mAh battery. The battery life was very poor, as the battery lasted just 4 hours during our testing phase. On normal usage with 3G on, the Titanium S1 lasted for just around 14 hours. Final Take The Karbonn S1 Titanium is priced in India at Rs. 10499. It does look very good on papers but in reality it does not perform well. The device has good performance, and features. But the negative features are the below average screen and the poor batter life. In this range the Xolo Q800 looks a better device. 11 Responses hemu November 27th, 2013 Sirji my S1 gets heated too soon I want to know this problem is with my phone particularly or with everyone. Reply Brahmnoor Singh Chawla June 3rd, 2013 Hi ! These all problem’s ARE there in S5. I suggest against buying it, S5 has many problems. Instead go for Zen Ultrafone 701 HD or MMX Canvas HD.
