Idea Cellular has extended its mobile range by launching the Idea Aurus 4, in its Aurus series. The Aurus 4 features 4.5 inch touchscreen with 480×854 pixels resolution. It has Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS, and features support for 3G, HSDPA 21Mbps and HSUPA. With 5-megapixels rear camera, the device boasts dual SIM support and VGA front camera.

At the price of Rs. 8999, the device is certainly a bit costly, seeing that mobiles in India are cheaper than ever. The device runs on 1.3Ghz dual-core processor. It supports all the usual connectivity options including WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and 2G. It also has FM radio support, with a custom radio player.

The device is well supported with 512MB RAM, which gives it enough memory to run normal apps. It has 4GB internal memory, of which about 1.4GB is user available. Idea Aurus 4 runs on 1800 mAh battery, that claims to give it 2 days of backup.

The young and savvy youth of India has a huge appetite for content on mobile, but is deterred due to highly priced smartphones in India. Idea is bridging this gap by offering 3G smartphones packed with high-end features at relatively low price. Idea Aurus 4 is the latest addition to our growing portfolio of 3G devices which is enabling a large base of Idea users experience 3G for the first time in India.
